Intro to Ranch Horse Clinic

Join us on May 15 & 16 for 2 days of Ranch Horse instruction! We’ll be covering an assortment of skills, with practice and instruction on areas such as roping, trail, pole work, showmanship, ranch pattern work and individual cattle work. Clinicians include Newt Webb, Michael Dunn and Karlene Bushey.

The clinic will be divided into multiple stations with instruction at each station.  We are offering both a cattle and non-cattle option.  Those who chose not to work cattle will have the option to audit the cattle classes or repeat one of the dry stations as space allows.

The cost of this clinic is $375 with cattle included or $250 without.  This includes 2 days of riding and a stall.  A 50% non-refundable deposit will be required to hold your space in this clinic.

For those of you who simply want to work cattle, we will also be offering a limited number of cattle only workshops.  This will include two and a half hours of cattle time and is offered at a rate of $200.  If you’d like to join us for CATTLE ONLY, click here to complete the registration form.  

Brandy Johnson Clinic

Upstate Ranch Riders is excited to welcome clinician Brandy Johnson!  We are now accepting a limited number of registrations for our Brandy Johnson Clinic.  Don’t miss your opportunity to learn from this amazing cowgirl.

The clinic will be divided into 2 divisions:

Our Advanced Division will run from 8:30 to 12:30 on 7/31 and from 7-10 am on 8/1.  This division is for riders who have experience showing at a national level (ARHA, NRCHA etc.) and it is assumed that your horse will have experience with cattle and going down the fence.  This clinic will include herd work and more advanced instruction.  The cost of this clinic is $600.

Our Limited Clinic will run from 2-6 pm on Friday 7/31 and from 11 am -2 pm on Saturday 8/1.  This division will include boxing, flag work, terminology and the fundamentals of ranch horse showing.  The cost of this clinic is $450.  **Our Limited Clinic is Currently Full- but we are accepting names for our waitlist**

Fresh cattle, lunch and stalls are included with the clinic fee.

Joan Werner Clinic

Upstate Ranch Riders is proud to welcome Joan Werner– multiple time world champion, coach, trainer and showman- as our clinician and judge for September 2026. We are now accepting a limited number of registrations for the “Improving Your All Around Ranch Horse” clinic on Friday September 25 and Saturday September 26.

The clinic will be divided into 2 groups, a morning group and an afternoon group.  Each group will include dry work, pattern execution, maneuver improvement and individual cattle work.  The focus will be “through the judge’s lens.”  This is a 2 day clinic and is offered at just $500.  This includes 2 days of riding, cattle and a stall.

•  A Learn, Grow & Show Environment.  Friday and Saturday will be a CLINIC hosted by the Sunday judge. You can opt to ride in the clinic only, show only, or do both! The idea is to learn what is expected in each class, better understand scoring, improve your rides and most of all– to HAVE FUN!
